WHAT WE STAND FOR
NO TO CUTS
Austerity is a political choice. But politicians choose to inflict pain on communities via cuts to vital services, closure of facilities and council tax hikes in order to protect the 1%. Whichever mainstream party wins this election, cuts to the services we all rely on will continue.
TUSC MPs will never vote for cuts and put the needs of our communities before big business interests.
END THE SLAUGHTER IN GAZA
The horrific scenes we have witnessed over several months in the Gaza Strip are a war crime, for which both Labour and the Tories are complicit as they give unwavering support to the far-right Israeli government. All Scottish TUSC candidates will oppose Israel's genocidal destruction in Palestine and will fight to ensure the war is ended immediately and the perpetrators are held to account for the atrocities they have committed.
Only through the fight for genuine socialism in the middle east can a permanent solution to stop war once and for all in Israel and Palestine be found.
Scottish TUSC will vehemently oppose any attempt to conscript Scottish youngsters as cannon fodder for imperialist wars.
END THE COST OF LIVING CRISIS AND FIGHT FOR WORKERS' RIGHTS
Years after the pandemic, our bills for food, services, housing, gas and electricity are still sky high but the rich big businesses and landlords who own these resources are making massive profits. Meanwhile millions of workers are living on poverty pay and have had their rights, like the right to strike, attacked so that they have to fight back with one hand tied behind their back.
We say no more! TUSC candidates would fight to reverse all anti-trade union laws and campaign for a £15 per hour minimum wage, paid for with socialist policies like taking energy companies, banks and big businesses like Amazon and Royal Mail into democratic public ownership.
BUILD A MASS MOVEMENT FOR INDEPENDENCE
For an independent, socialist Scotland.
The SNP and Greens have shown that they don't want to fundamentally change the economy to benefit the working class after independence. It will be austerity and cuts and our communities made to pay as usual. Scottish Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition, in contrast, call for a socialist Scotland. We are fighting to mobilise the largest possible movement of the working class to win the right to decide.
We understand that the struggle for democratic rights under capitalism is linked to the fight to end the profit-driven system itself. Mass struggle for independence and for an independent socialist Scotland is the way forward.
BUILD A NEW MASS WORKERS PARTY
A VOICE FOR WORKERS AND COMMUNITIES
All of the mainstream parties including the SNP and the Greens accept the logic of cuts to save capitalism, punishing workers and communities for the failures of their system. Working class people are completely unrepresented in our political system To change that we need a mass socialist, workers party, involving the trade unions.
SOCIALISM
PUBLIC OWNERSHIP AND AN END TO POVERTY
We live in an extremely rich country yet side by side with obscene wealth exists obscene poverty. The people who create wealth, the Working class should have a direct say over the economy. And you can't control what you don't own. We fight for a socialist economy planned to meet the needs of all not make the super rich even richer.
